IPL 2022, Hardik Pandya: An injury-prone Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who is set to lead Gujarat Titans in the IPL, said his game and fitness are continuing to improve, and his focus is on things that are under his control. The 28-year-old has been battling fitness issues since a back injury in 2019. For this reason, he did not find a place in the Indian team for the last few series against New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies and Sri Lanka. In the video released on the IPL website, Hardik said, I was just spending time with family, working hard as usual. I am making sure that I prepare well. During this I had a lot of time to think about what I want and what would be good for me. There was a lot of buzz after Hardik was made the captain of Gujarat Titans since he was not retained in the team by Mumbai Indians ahead of the big IPL auction in February this year.
Hardik said, I don’t think it will be my comeback or I am concentrating on it. Right now I just want to be with a positive mindset and I am not looking too ahead. I am just concentrating on the things which are under my control, which suits my body and which I can contribute to the success of the team.
Hardik wants to do this for the players
Pandya said- If I do well for Gujarat Titans in IPL then things will be good for future also. Right now I am only concentrating on one thing. It will be important for me to always be available for the players of the team. I want to give security and freedom to the players to play according to their own preferences.
BCCI vs Hardik
Hardik has moved from Grade A to Grade C in BCCI’s central contracts. He recently assessed his fitness at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and passed the ‘Yo-Yo’ test comfortably along with trying his hand at bowling.
Pandya was waiting for IPL
Pandya said, I am looking forward to this IPL because I have been away from the game for a long time. It is very exciting for me, I will get to see where I really am after three months of hard work. Hardik said, I have learned that results do not matter because hard work alone does not guarantee you success but you can achieve success by adopting the right process. Let us inform that Gujarat Titans will take on the second new team led by Lokesh Rahul, Lucknow Super Giants in the first match of their IPL campaign on March 28.
