IPL 2022, Lasith Malinga: The newly appointed fast bowling coach of Rajasthan Royals, Lasith Malinga believes that the IPL franchise has an excellent fast bowling attack, which includes experienced international players and India’s fast and young bowlers. Malinga, who took 546 wickets in 340 matches in all three formats for Sri Lanka, has been appointed by the Royals as their fast bowling coach ahead of IPL-15 (IPL 2022). Malinga said in a media release, I think we have the best pace attack.

Coach Malinga reveals the secret!
Malinga said in a media release, I think we have the best pace attack. We have experienced overseas players like Trent Boult and Nathan Coulter-Nile with whom I have worked in the past. Apart from this, we have genuine Indian fast bowlers in the form of famous (Krishna) and (Navdeep) Saini, who have proved themselves at a high level. Along with this there are some new faces in the form of Anunay Singh, Kuldeep Sen and Kuldeep Yadav.

Malinga said, “I think in T20 cricket the slightest difference really means a lot, and I am here to guide them so that they can do their best in all kinds of conditions.” Malinga, the highest wicket-taker in the IPL, said that he is thoroughly enjoying the new role by joining the new franchise.

What did Malinga say about his new role?
Malinga said, coaching and sharing my experience with young players is definitely a new thing for me. I have done this role earlier with Mumbai, and now I am happy to work with Rajasthan Royals. It is a new place, but I am thoroughly enjoying my role here working with talented bowlers.

On joining the Royals after spending 13 years with Mumbai Indians, Malinga said, “Last year Kumar Sangakkara asked me but I did not want to be away from the family due to the restrictions of Kovid and bio bubble. But after working with the Sri Lankan team this year, I felt that I can give something back to the game from my experience.
